1. hold on (ถือสายรอ)

3. put (a call) through (ต่อสายให้)

6. pick up (รับสาย)
• ‘No one is picking up, maybe they’re not at home.’
(ไม่มีมีใครรับสาย อาจไม่อยู่บ้าน)
7. get off (the phone) (หยุดพูด)
• ‘When he gets off the other phone, I’ll pass on your message.’
(เมื่อเขาพูดเสร็จ ผม หรือ ดิฉันจะบอกให้นะ)
8. get back to (someone) (จะโทรกลับ)
• ‘When do you think he / she’ll be able to get back to me?’
(คุณคิดว่า......จะโทรกลับมาได้ตอนไหนครับ / คะ)
9. cut off (สายตัด)
• ‘I think we got cut off, I can’t hear her / him anymore.’
(ผม(ดิฉัน) คิดว่า สายมันตัด ผมไม่ได้ยินเธอ หรือ เขา เลย) สำนวน to get cut off = สายตัด หรือ We got disconnected.
10. switch off/turn off (เครื่องดับ)
• ‘Sorry you couldn’t get through to me. My phone was switched off, because the battery was dead.’
( ขอโทษ ที่ติดต่อผม / ดิฉันไม่ได้ พอดี ปิดเครื่อง เพราะแบ็ตหมด)
11. speak up (พูดให้ดังหน่อย)
• ‘I’m afraid I can’t hear you very well, could you speak up a little please?’
(ขอโทษที่ได้ยินไม่ชัด กรุณาพูดดังอีกนิดนะครับ / คะ)

I sorry can't hear you. (ขอโทษด้วย ไม่ได้ยินเลย)
