หมายความว่า ฉันไม่แน่ใจว่า.....หรือเปล่า
คำว่า if ในโครงสร้างนี้ ไม่ได้แปลว่า ถ้า อย่าเข้าใจผิด
ถ้างง ให้ใช้ว่า whether or not แทนเข้าไปได้ เช่น
I am not sure if he understands.
= ฉันไม่แน่ใจเขาเข้าใจหรือเปล่า
หรือ I am not sure whether he understands or not.
ซึ่งจะตรงกับภาษาไทยมากกว่า
I am not sure if he will call back.
I am not sure whether he will call back or not.
= ฉันไม่แน่ใจว่าเขาจะโทรกลับมาหรือเปล่า
I am not sure if she understands my question.
I am not sure whether she understands my question or not.
= ฉันไม่แน่ใจว่าหล่อนเข้าใจคำถามหรือเปล่า
I am not sure if Dad will allow me to go to the party.
I am not sure whether Dad will allow me to go to the party or not.
= ฉันไม่แน่ใจว่าพ่อจะอนุญาตให้ฉันไปดูหนังหรือเปล่า
I am not sure if he will make the same mistake again.
I am not sure whether he will make the same mistake again or not.
= ฉันไม่แน่ใจว่าเขาจะทำผิดแบบเดิมอีกหรือเปล่า
